Hello there, and welcome to Etude Piano Studio! My name is Amanda Slyter, and I love helping beginner students become accomplished pianists.
An etude is a piece of music that focuses on one area of technique, but is performed because of its artistic merit; I think that playing and learning the piano should have the same idea behind it! In lessons we learn technique and theory to develop your overall musicianship, but enjoy the music and have fun because creativity is meant to be enjoyed for its own sake.
After receiving my B.A. In Music Education with an emphasis in both Piano and Voice from Vanguard University of Southern California, I moved with my hubby up to Boise, and have been teaching music in some capacity ever since! I've been teaching private piano lessons for the last eight years, and specialize in beginning students, children with developmental disabilities, and those who have taken lessons before but were not taught how to read music/theory.
If you're interested in taking lessons with me, click on my Contact Page to book an interview- I'd love to see if we're the right fit!
